Education Was Just the Start for Dr. Gail Weingast
October 21, 2022Dr. Gail Weingast values every aspect of her educational and career journey because it has all contributed to make her the doctor she is today. After she finished medical school in 1976, Dr. Gail Weingast also did a pediatrics internship from 1976-1977 at Colorado General Hospital in Denver, then completed a residency in pediatrics over the next two years, after which she also completed a residency in the field of radiology from 1980 to 1983 and a fellowship in the field of ultrasound in 1983, all under the guidance of Colorado General. That said, Dr. Weingast completed her post-graduate studies as a radiologist from 1983 to 1984 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, also in Denver.
Dr. Gail Weingast then practiced at several other Colorado hospitals and then in New York, before she finally landed in her current position, where she is a highly regarded radiology specialist at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut. As that facility’s Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging, where she has been for a couple decades, she has taken a leading role in guiding her department into its current very prominent position as a premiere medical facility. Her four-plus decades of knowledge and experience certainly helped.
