Portrait of Dr. Gail Weingast: Distinguished Connecticut Radiologist

Over the span of more than four decades, Dr. Gail Weingast has traversed a diverse array of hospitals across Colorado and New York. However, her journey eventually led her to her current role at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut, where she has amassed over 20 years of service as a highly esteemed radiology specialist. Holding the esteemed position of Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging, she has played a pivotal role in elevating her department to its current standing as one of the nation’s premier medical institutions.

Dr. Gail Weingast’s career trajectory wasn’t a linear progression. In fact, the path to her illustrious medical career wasn’t immediately apparent. Commencing her education at Tufts University in Massachusetts in 1969, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. It was only later that she embarked on her journey into the medical field, enrolling in Boston University School of Medicine and officially attaining the title of Dr. Gail Weingast, MD, in 1976. Since then, her dedication to medicine has remained unwavering.
